kinkajou news

here's a link to a story about a kinkajou that escaped a zoo and attacked a bus driver: http://www.itsnature.org/news/kinkajou-on-the-loose/

A kinkajou escaped from the San Juan de Aragon Zoo and went for a ride on a public bus. The bus driver tried to grab the kinklajou and was attacked. The kinkajou bit her arm, and paramedics hurried to get her to the hospital. The kinkajou was sent back to the zoo.

the oldest kinkajou in captivity

I found an article that tells us about the oldest kinkajou in captivity (also the oldest known kinkajou).
In January 2004, Huggy Bear turned 27 years and 6 months old. She belongs to Sonja Pederson, in Holiday, Florida. Huggy Bear is dead now, but she still holds the record for the oldest kinkajou in captivity.

If you have any questions, just ask =)

what do kinkajous look like

I've been asked what these animals look like. I'll try and describe them for you.

Kinkajous have long, golden fur and a extremely, long skinny tongue. They also have a long prehensile tail that they use to hang off tree branches with to help them catch food. Kinkajous also have slightly webbed feet and long claws, which help them grip the branches when predators come. They look like carnivores, but they mostly eat fruit.

If you have any specific questions, just ask.
